Challenges
Transform an obsolete eCommerce store into a modern, more functional sales platform.
The Playbill Store ran an antiquated version of the Yahoo Store platform behind the scenes to manage their online merchandise sales. LockData was tasked with replacing this platform and giving the site a fresh look that would be more user friendly and provide a seamless checkout experience for new and returning customers. SEO was also an area prioritized for improvement.
Approach
After careful examination of the previous solution, LockData crafted a well thought out plan to freshen up the design, improve SEO and strategically export product and order data from the existing storefront. Keeping a tall order of features in mind, research began on the various shopping platforms which included BigCommerce, Shopify and Americommerce (Cart.com).
Americommerce was chosen as the best fit due to the rich set of features available, multiple integration options, flexibility and multi-storefront capabilities. LockData focused its efforts on theme development, connected integrations with ShippingEasy, Tax Cloud and Quickboos to name a few and data mapping to ensure successful product and order imports.
Once configuration and development were complete, the store was meticulously tested to ensure the platform was stable, functional and ready for release.
Results
Following the launch of the new eCommerce platform, PlaybillStore.com saw an increase in traffic, user engagement and a notable increase in sales of roughly 20-30% within the first year.
